Earthing The Current Vlog

  1. Nice video Mark. Nice stream too! Just my cup of tea.

Wind noise. I'm trying to figure out an way of getting rid of it as it spoils so many shots. The pro answer is this ~

    http://www.rycote.com/products/micro_windjammers/

£15 for 30 of the things, which is good value, but I think a home brew would be easily contrived out of those little foam fitments on micro headphones.

  2. Hello Jeff,

I'm glad you found the video enjoyable.

Whilst I was fishing it I thought to myself "this lovely bit of water would be right up Jeffs street".

It is rather beautiful and packed full of features that can keep an angler intrigued and contented for many a day.

I agree with you about the wind noise I had to trim some of the video down due to it being ruined by the wind. Thanks for the link, Those windjammers look interesting and very useful, but as you rightly say a home brew could be easily constructed and it's certainly something I am most interested in.

Thanks for taking the time to post a comment Jeff and also for the very useful information.

    Kind regards
    Mark

  3. Some nice fish there Mark and a good healthy and stocky looking fish at that, As for the wind noise i just turn of both hearing aids haha, The streem is very decieving as it looks lifeless and yet that rod stands out well against the background,
    Great vid mate,

  4. There's another one available with a velcro fitting. The Micro Muff! Jessops sell it at around fifteen quid. I think I'll have one of them, though anticipating asking the shop girl if she can show me a micro muff might be an interesting conversation...

  5. Paddy,

cheers mate, yes they were all in very rude health, you're right some of the areas look devoid, but there is so many undercut banks and deeper pools to try, that I think hold many more suprises for an angler. Haha yes I am very sorry about the wind noise it really was buffeting me and affecting the sound quality.

The rod does stand out well doesn't it? It is a cheap and cheerful Avanti Twin tip, but does its job well.

Thanks for taking the time to post a comment mate, always welcome.

    Jeff,

I am very thankful of this extra information, I will go on the Jessops site and have a look about for this micro muff that you mention, I have to admit that you have given me a good chuckle, I can really see that being a very awkward but amusing conversation with the sales assistant.

    Kind regards

  6. Lovely video of a lovely stream with lovely fish. I really enjoyed it. Is there, by any chance, trout in that stream too? Finally I have a personal question to you: Would you mind if I use the gorgeous photo of the Kingfisher (Kingfisher Shooting Star was my first fly rod back in the 70'ties) as a background on my laptop?
Have fun enjoying being around a lovely stream fishing,
    M.O.

  8. Hello there Erin,

believe me it was indeed very heartening not to see it running a deep grey colour and smelling of sewage like it did back in 2010.

Thanks for dropping by, your rod build looks to be going exceptionally well and looks amazing.

    Mats,

yes you are correct there was Brown Trout in the stream and i suspect that some may have survived that terrible pollution.

I'm glad you found the video enjoyable.

You are welcome to use the photos as a wallpaper/background on your computer, if you could give me your email address I would be happy to send a compressed folder with them in to you, so you can select which you prefer.

    Kind Regards
    Mark
