Thanks Paddy,yes oddly enough the hook that I had that 9 pounder on was a bit blunt after ,so I used the hook sharpener on it and I later lost that last fish,so your right,food for thought and one that niggles at me when I keep thinking about,it as normally I would have changed the hook and used a new one,sharpening the old one more throughly when back at home.Oh well never mind.tight lines mateMark
